Kissmedeadlydoll is a NYC based designer, rope lover, and avid self-suspender. After discovering her love of rope as a demo model, she quickly began recreating and practicing ties on her own. thus starting her foray into obsessive amounts of auto-bondage and suspension. Primarily self-taught through trial and error, four and a half years later she is sharing her love of self-suspending as a creator via her photography (aka the “selftie selfie”), showcasing her skills at various public events, and teaching others how to safely enjoy creating with rope. Her goal in all self-suspensions is to be the rigger and the bottom, adapt those same concepts of how one ties someone else… to tie yourself. To educate and inspire others, to collaborate and find something new.

2018 Class Offerings

Arms Free

It’s not just for self-suspension addicts, come tie it on your partner as well! This class will consist of not just learning one of my chest harnesses, but also the thought process behind how I build my stems & suspension lines for self-suspension (or tying other people if you’re attending with a partner).

*Note* if you come to self-tie the chest harness, there is a large amount of tying behind your back, please stretch arms & shoulders before class.

Needed: 3-4 pieces 8m rope (a 7m is also helpful if you’re smaller). Carabiner/Ring/Suspension hardware/equipment to test out tying the upline & how the harness will feel during a suspension, but we will not actually be fully suspending in this class.
Prerequisite: knowledge of x-friction, half-moon friction, L-frictions will be very helpful
Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Type: Hands-On

BYOR

This class will cover advanced transition ideas for self-suspensions. We will discuss approaching transitions the same way as a rigger would if tying someone else: including pre-planning main support lines to shift the body’s weight from one area to another, managing multiple suspension lines to avoid jams, tying off near the body to always have lines in reach, & “active body management” to make your own shapes and help manage the rope. Students will be expected to start tying their harnesses on their own so we can move right into the discussion and a quick demo, ideally allowing plenty of time for everyone to try some version of the demo ideas thrown out and get some personalized help in their free-styling goals.

Students are strongly encouraged to warm up & stretch before class.

Needed: 8-9 pieces of 8m rope (1-2 7m ropes might also be helpful). Carabiner/Ring/Suspension hardware/equipment. I will demo on a ring.
Prerequisite: must have taken my chest harness class (Arms Free) and know how to tie a hip harness.
Level: Advanced
Type: Hands-On

Movement 1

For those who love to move, to explore self-expression and “active body management”.

Explore your own headspace and connect with yourself for a change. This is a floor/partial based class using rope “straps” & single columns to explore your body’s range of motion and how you can feel through movement.

*Note* participants should bring a phone to record themselves during these movement trials to help them understand & observe their body in motion and ropes. Videos will ONLY be for participants personal study during class and are not allowed to be posted on social media.

Needed: 3-4 8m ropes. Carabiners hardware/equipment and a swivel can be helpful but isn’t necessary.
Prerequisite: Must know how to tie a single column with a non-collapsible knot & how to lock off a suspension line.
Level: Beginner
Type: Hands-On
